New Delhi. Controversy continues regarding the statue of Rani Laxmibai being installed on DDA land near Shahi Idgah in Sadar Bazar area of Delhi. The petition of Shahi Idgah Management Committee against the installation of the statue in Shahi Idgah Park was heard in the Delhi High Court on Friday. Earlier, the court had asked the committee to apologize and remove the controversial arguments. The committee’s counsel says that an affidavit with an unconditional apology was filed, but the same is not on record.
The next hearing of the case will be on Tuesday. The High Court said that the senior lawyer said that he has filed an affidavit along with the application in the registry. They are not on record, they should be brought on record. Shahi Idgah Management Committee has filed an affidavit with unconditional apology in Delhi High Court. The committee had filed a petition against installing the statue of Rani Laxmibai in Shahi Idgah Park. The High Court had reprimanded the committee for its condemnable arguments and said that the committee was making communal arguments.
The Eidgah Committee had told the court on the previous date that it was withdrawing the petition, but the High Court had asked to apologize first. Along with this, he had also sought an application for deletion of the scandalous arguments including the allegations made against the single judge, who had rejected his plea. During the hearing on Friday, the High Court was told that the apology has been filed, but is not on record. The committee said that after the court order in this case, the apology letter has been submitted to the registry. The hearing has been adjourned till Tuesday to bring the documents on record.
