Preparations for the India Day parade are in full swing in America.
However, a controversy has already arisen before that. Actually, there is a plan to float a tableau of the newly built Ram temple in Ayodhya in the India Day parade to be held in New York.
Some organizations there have expressed their objection regarding this and have called it anti-Muslim.
A letter has also been written to the Mayor of New York regarding this and it has been said that the plan to float the temple should be removed from the event.
Let us tell you that recently Pran Pratishtha has been done in the temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya. Devotees from all over the country and the world are coming to see Lord Ram.
Some organizations have raised objections in a letter written to New York Mayor Eric Adams and Governor Kathy Hochul. In this letter, it is said that floating the replica of Ram Mandir would be anti-Muslim.
Not only this, the organizations also said that doing so would be glorifying the incident of demolition of the mosque. The organizations that wrote the letter include American Islamic Relations Council, Indian American Muslim Council and Hindus for Human Rights.
The letter said that the presence of floats shows the desire of these groups to merge Hindu nationalist ideology with Indian identity. But India is a secular country.
At the same time, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America, which is organizing the tableau, says that it represents a Hindu place of worship.
It aims to glorify a deity seen as an important part of Indian and Hindu identity. The Hindu American Foundation said it is an exercise in freedom of expression.
The Federation of Indian Associations said the parade represents the cultural diversity of India. It will include tableaux from various communities.
“There’s no place for hate. If there’s a float or a person in the parade that’s promoting hate, they shouldn’t be there,” Adams said at a press conference earlier this week.
