Irregularities and corruption in examinations will be investigated

As per the guarantee given by the Government of Chhattisgarh to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the irregularities and corruption in the examinations of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission will be investigated by CBI.

In compliance with the state government’s decision to get this case investigated by the Central Investigation Agency, CBI, a crime has been registered by the Economic Offenses Investigation Agency against former Public Service Commission Chairman Taman Singh Sonwani and other officials.

It is worth noting that the state government had decided to get the investigation done by the Central Investigation Agency CBI, in compliance with which the Home (Police) Department has informed the Director General State Economic Offenses Investigation Bureau and Anti Corruption Bureau Raipur that the Chhattisgarh State Public Service After the competitive examination year 2021 conducted by the Commission for 170 posts and the results of which were released on May 11, 2021, complaints were received through Nankiram Kanwar and others accusing the State Public Service Commission of irregularities and corruption.

On the basis of the complaint letter, prima facie it was found that the then Chairman of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, Taman Singh Sonwani, the then Secretary Jeevan Kishore Dhruv, the then Controller of Examinations and the Government and the public servants posted at that time in the Commission and the concerned politicians and others were indulging in corruption in their respective posts. By misusing power and using political influence, in the selection process of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission for the year 2020 and 2021 and in the Assistant Professor Selection Examination, in a criminal conspiracy, in a manner contrary to the rules, he selected his son, daughter and relatives in place of many deserving candidates. While holding government posts, the government and those qualified candidates have been cheated by corrupt practices, which is punishable under Section 120B, 420, IPC and Section 7, 7 (A), and 12 IPC. 1998 as amended. A crime has been found to have been committed under IPC 2018, hence the crime has been registered and taken up for investigation.
