Lebanon’s terrorist organization Hezbollah is upset with the pager and walkie-talkie attack. It has alleged that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad planned this entire incident.
At least 30 people are reported dead and more than 3200 injured in both attacks. Meanwhile, there is news of a cyber attack on Israel.
Local media reports that Israelis’ phones suddenly started ringing at midnight. Emergency messages started appearing on them.
In the message, Israelis were asked to flee to a safe place. After receiving thousands of such messages, a situation of panic arose.
Israeli officials are investigating such messages. It is being said that these may be sponsored by Iranian hackers.
Israeli media reported that Israelis across the country received hoax “emergency alerts” late Wednesday night.
In which they were told to leave where they are and go to a safe area. After the message was widely circulated, KAN News reported that the possibility that Iran is behind it is being investigated.
Israeli army statement
At the same time, the Israeli army IDF termed such messages as fake and said that they did not send any such message to the Israelis.
This could be a cyber attack. The IDF statement said, “The message declaring an emergency was not sent by us. There has been no change in the defense policy of the Home Front Command.”
what was the message
Many Israelis received emergency messages at midnight on Wednesday. People also shared screenshots of these messages on social media.
The headline of the message read – “OREFAlert.” In Hebrew, it is like Home Front Command. It is being told that the Israelis mistook this message as IDF’s and a situation of panic arose. The text message received by the Israelis contained a link and above it was written in wrong spelling, “You must go to the safe area.”
It is worth noting that the news of cyber attack on Israel has come after more than 20 people were killed in pager and walkie-talkie explosions in Lebanon for two consecutive days. According to Hezbollah officials, pagers kept in people’s pockets suddenly started exploding in many areas of Beirut and southern Lebanon.
Lebanon had not yet recovered from the attack on Tuesday, when the next day on Wednesday many people lost their lives in a walkie-talkie explosion. Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad is said to be behind both these attacks. The pager and walkie-talkie were filled with explosives.
