Cyclone Dana on 25th Odisha-P. Will hit Bengal coast – NNSP

Puri/Kolkata. Cyclonic storm ‘Dana’, which arose from the Andaman Sea, is moving rapidly towards the Bay of Bengal. The cyclone will hit Puri coast at midnight on 24th October or in the morning of 25th October. During this period, winds will blow at a speed of 120 km/hour.

More than 3 thousand tourists have been sent home safely in Puri. Hotel booking has been stopped for four days. In Odisha, all the schools and colleges of 14 districts have been closed till 25th. Whereas the leaves of the employees have been cancelled. About 10 lakh people are being shifted in Odisha. According to Ramakrishna Pratihari, the priest of Jagannath temple of Puri, all the puja rituals taking place in the temple during this period will be on time. But, devotees have been requested not to come till October 25. The impact of the storm will be visible in Bengal also. 150 trains have been canceled in Odisha and 198 in Bengal. The government has evacuated about 1.5 lakh people from Digha, East Medinipur and South 24 Parganas districts and sent them to safe places. Saudi Arabia has given the name Cyclone Dana. It means generosity.
