New techniques of road and building construction and various stages of construction projects were studied by meeting with experts
Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Saw, who went to the US on a study tour, visited road and building construction sites in Washington on Friday and observed the works.
He discussed with architects and engineers at the construction sites and gathered information about the materials, metals and machinery used in the construction.
He held a meeting with experts there and studied new techniques of road and building construction and various stages of construction projects. Secretary of Public Works Department Dr. Kamalpreet Singh was also with him during this time.
Deputy Chief Minister Saw held a meeting with construction experts in Washington to learn about new construction techniques and the phased steps to be taken from planning to construction of road and building construction projects in the USA.
There, the complete design of the building and infrastructure is prepared in the computer using BIM computer system, which not only accurately estimates the material and cost required for their construction, but also helps in the subsequent maintenance work.
Deputy Chief Minister Sao said that for the construction of good quality and durable roads and buildings in Chhattisgarh, a detailed study of the new technologies and methods prevalent in America will be done and their implementation in the Public Works Department will be considered.
He sought information from experts in Washington about health and safety measures for construction workers at work sites. He also studied measures to protect residential areas near roads from noise pollution.
In the USA, road construction and building projects are extensively studied at the initial DPR stage to avoid problems and delays and cost overruns that may occur later.
