DGCA chief removed after continuous threats to airlines

New Delhi. After continuous threats to various airlines, the Union Personnel Ministry has removed DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) Chief Vikram Dev Dutt from his post and appointed him Secretary in the Coal Ministry. This decision is being linked to the threats received by the airlines. It is noteworthy that on Saturday itself, more than 30 planes had received bomb threats, which created panic among the passengers.

In the past few days, following threats to blow up the plane with bombs, emergency landings were made on the planes and they were sent off after thorough investigation, but in the process hundreds of passengers remained troubled for hours. Taking immediate action on this serious situation, the Central Government has sought a detailed report from the Civil Aviation Ministry and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). Along with this, the Union Home Ministry has also directed CISF, National Investigation Agency (NI), and Intelligence Bureau (IB) to submit a report on this matter.

After receiving threats against more than 30 planes in just one day, senior officials of aviation companies met officials of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). Meanwhile, BCAS Director General Zulfikar Hasan assured that the Indian skies are completely safe. He said that all necessary security measures are being taken to deal with such threats.
