Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar is furious at those who say that the condition of India will be like Bangladesh.
He lashed out without naming anyone and expressed concern over how anyone could compare India with Bangladesh.
Dhankhar said these things at the platinum jubilee function of Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur. He said how can a citizen of this country who has been a Member of Parliament and another who has seen many foreign services say such things.
It is believed that Jagdeep Dhankhar has targeted senior Congress leaders Salman Khurshid and Mani Shankar Aiyar. Both of them had said that a situation like Bangladesh would arise in India too.
Dhankhar also said that anti-national forces are using the platforms of our constitutional institutions to hide or legitimize their actions.
He said that national interest is supreme in any situation.
Dhankhar said that this is the top priority, the only priority and we are committed to giving priority to the nation before anything else. The Rajya Sabha Chairman also said that the legislature cannot write judgments, similarly the judiciary cannot make laws or give directions that are beyond the law.
He said that the role of all institutions is clearly mentioned in the Constitution…if there is encroachment in the area of one constitutional institution by another then it would be dangerous.
Dhankhar said that we should work to protect the institutions of our democracy from those who have evil intentions and even if they succeed in making some inroads, do not remain silent but neutralise them.
He warned that anti-India forces are trying to obstruct our progress and are working at various levels.
These forces are targeting our constitutional institutions, tarnishing and weakening them.
He said that the judicial system of a nation and its functionality defines its democratic vibrancy. An independent judicial system is essential for any government as it is the lifeline.
