Did India also interfere in Canadian elections? The commission there asked for evidence from the Trudeau government…

After the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Canada has made another allegation against India.

The Canadian government believes that India has also interfered in its general elections. Now the Change Commission there wants to investigate this matter.

The issue of interference by foreign powers in Canadian elections has been raised before. However, at that time these allegations were limited only to China and Russia. But now Canada has also pointed fingers at India.

Canada’s Federal Commission of Inquiry wants to probe alleged interference by India in the country’s last two general elections, Canada-based CTV News reports.

Canada is considering this as a case of foreign interference. The Canadian Commission of Inquiry said in a statement on Wednesday that it has asked the Justin Trudeau government at the Center to produce documents related to these allegations.

Last year, the Canadian Commission of Inquiry released its report. It mentioned possible interference by China, Russia and other foreign countries in the 2019 and 2021 federal elections.

In this, instructions were given to assess the election interference by organizations having immense political influence, apart from foreign powers.

Now the latest statement from the Canadian Commission indicates its intention to investigate any role of India in influencing the last two elections.

Hearing on this issue will start from Monday. The commission’s preliminary hearing will look at whether classified national security information and intelligence should be released to the public. If kept, what will be its challenges and limitations. The commission’s interim report is due on May 3. The final report is expected to come by the end of the year.
