A message is going viral on social media platforms, along with which a picture of a Rs 500 note is also being shared.
It is being claimed that if you have such a note, it is fake.
Not only this, the public is being appealed through messages not to accept such notes. However, when this entire matter was investigated the truth came out.

A message with Rs 500 note is going viral. It says, ‘500 rupee notes with * symbol are circulating in the market. Such notes have been returned from IndusInd Bank.
This is a fake note. Even today, 2-3 such notes were received from a customer, but out of caution, they were returned immediately. The customer also says that this note was given to him by someone.
It is further written, ‘Be alert. There has been an increase in the number of people roaming in the market with fake notes. In the picture of Rs 500 note shared in the viral post, there is a * mark in between the number of the note.
what is the truth
This has been denied by PIB i.e. Press Information Bureau. The truth behind the ‘*’ mark on the official ‘X’ handle of PIB has also been revealed.
PIB wrote, ‘Do you have a Rs 500 note with * mark? Are you also worried that it is fake? Don’t worry. The message that such notes are fake is false. Rs 500 notes bearing the star* symbol have been in circulation since December 2016.
