Padyatra to celebrate the legacy of Lord Birsa Munda and contribution of tribal communities in nation building

Over 10,000 My Bharat Youth Volunteers to join Padyatra in honor of Lord Birsa Munda

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and Labor and Employment, will undertake a padyatra with My Bharat Youth Volunteers on Tribal Pride Day in Jashpur, Chhattisgarh on 13 November 2024.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai along with other ministers of the state will also participate in this padyatra. The event will be celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, to honor his legacy and the significant contribution of tribal communities in the development of the country.

More than 10,000 My Bharat Youth Volunteers will participate in this special event with the aim of remembering tribal heritage, promoting inclusivity and raising awareness about government schemes that benefit tribal communities. These volunteers will promote the spirit of protection and preservation of tribal culture, heritage and heritage.

The padayatra will start from Komdo village and will end at Ranjit Stadium covering a distance of about 7 kilometres. This Padayatra will unite youth, tribal leaders and community members in a vibrant celebration of tribal heritage and spirit.

The event will begin with cultural acts depicting the contribution of tribal leaders to India’s independence and dances showcasing the richness of tribal heritage.

This Padyatra will start with the plantation of trees in accordance with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative.

During this Padayatra, an exhibition space will be showcasing historical tribal movements, tribute to tribal heroes and the unique artistry and craftsmanship of India’s tribal communities. Plays celebrating tribal culture, beautiful rangoli artworks, paintings and traditional tribal art will be performed at stoppages along the route of this padayatra.

Live-streamed workshops will provide attendees with an interactive experience with tribal dance, music and literature while a selection of tribal foods will be explained about their health benefits.

Highlights of the hike include:
Cultural programme: Tribal dance and music celebrating cultural richness.

Exhibition on Tribal Movements and Arts: Demonstration of historical tribal movements, valor and craftsmanship through plays and tableaux.

Awareness Kiosk: Information about government schemes and women beneficiaries.

Artistic Program: Rangoli, painting and workshops promoting tribal art and literature.

Celebration of contribution of youth:
My Bharat Portal and displaying NYKS achievements.

Tribute to tribal leaders: The participants will be dressed as prominent tribal figures.

Honoring Tribal Excellence: Congratulating Padma Award winners and promoting traditional sports.

tribal food: Serving a variety of tribal foods to promote health and fitness.

Through this event, the Ministry wishes to promote a deeper understanding of tribal heritage and culture as well as actively involve the tribal community in government welfare initiatives. The festival aims to provide a platform for the youth to connect with, understand and respect the rich heritage of India’s tribal heritage.
