Dragon conversation status? What does China have to say on the withdrawal of troops, and how is the situation on LAC?…

The process of withdrawal of troops has started on the India-China border.

After the Indian Army, now this has also been confirmed by China. According to this, the troops retreated in the plains of Depsang and Demchok on Tuesday.

The Chinese Army has said in the statement that everything is going well. This statement came four days after the agreement in which both countries agreed to patrol.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said in Beijing on Friday that the troops of China and India are following the process as per the discussions regarding the situation on the border.

The spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi posted this on Twitter on Saturday.

Army sources say that this process is expected to be completed by October 28-29. However, he also said that considering the conditions and weather of these areas, no time limit has been fixed.

At present, both the sides are also engaged in removing the temporary constructions built at these places in the last four and a half years. These consist of tents and sheds, which were built to accommodate equipment, vehicles and troops.

According to sources, the current agreement is only on restoration of patrolling rights in Depsang plains and Demchok areas. The withdrawal of troops is taking place only at these two points. The problems here are quite old and the matter was before China’s intrusion in 2020.

It is noteworthy that the Chinese Army had cut off India’s access to 10 to 13 patrolling points in the Depsang plains. At the same time, Chinese soldiers were camping on the Charding drain in Demchok area.

This agreement is very important. The reason is, the Chinese side was not even ready to talk on Depsang Plains and Demchok till a year ago.

However, it agreed on disengagement at PP 14 (Galwan Valley), PP 15 (Hot Springs), PP 17A (Gogra), North and South Bank of Pangong Tso.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar credited the agreement to the Army, which worked under very unimaginable circumstances. Jaishankar said that if we have reached here today, one of the reasons is that we have made a very determined effort to stick to our point and put forward our point. The Army was present at the LAC in very unimaginable circumstances to protect the country. The army did its job and diplomacy also did its job.

The Foreign Minister said that since September 2020, India was in talks with China to find a solution. He said that after this a big issue is how you manage the border and how to negotiate the border agreement.

Whatever is happening now is related to the first phase, which is the withdrawal of troops. The Foreign Minister said that this solution has various aspects. He said that the most important thing is that the soldiers have to retreat, because they are very close to each other and there was a possibility of something happening.

The External Affairs Minister said that India and China agreed at some places on how the troops will return to their bases after 2020, but one important thing was related to patrolling.

Jaishankar said that patrolling was being disrupted and we were trying to negotiate on this for the last two years.

So what happened on 21st October was that in those particular areas Demchok and Depsang we came to an understanding that patrolling would resume the way it was earlier.

It is noteworthy that a few days ago, an agreement was reached between India and China regarding withdrawal of troops and patrolling along the LAC in eastern Ladakh, which is a major success towards ending the deadlock that has been going on for more than four years.

In June 2020, relations were strained after a fierce clash between the soldiers of the two countries in the Galwan Valley. It was the most serious military conflict between the two sides in the last few decades.
