Due to the meaningful initiative of the district administration, four hostages of Surajpur district have been successfully freed from Murbad village located near Kalyan in Thane district of Maharashtra.

Four farmer family members of village Sanwarwan and Parsiya of Bhaiyathan development block of Surajpur were being held hostage in Murbad village of Maharashtra by the borewell company “Rock Driller” by luring them with the promise of better livelihood.

He was kept hostage there for 04 months. Collector Rohit Vyas received this information from an applicant of e-Jandarshan.

In which he took immediate action and directed the Labor Department and Police to take further action.

Acting immediately on this, the Labor Department provided complete information about the case to the police. After this, the police department also took immediate action.

The district administration and police department were actively taking meaningful steps to free the hostages of the district.

In which the bonded laborers of Bhaiyathan were freed with the special support of Thane District Collector Ashok Shingare (IAS), Additional Tribal Commissioner Deepak Kumar Meena and Thane Police of Maharashtra.

Along with this, legal action is being taken against all the conspirators involved in hostage taking by registering crimes under Indian Penal Code 504, 34, 16, 17, 18 of the Bonded Labor Act and Section 14 of the Child Labor Prohibition and Regulation.

Inderpal, Vikesh from village Sawanrawan of Bhaiyathan and Badal and Manbodh from village Parasia have left for Chhattisgarh from Thane Railway Station today and will reach their families safely today.
