The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action against an online gaming application. ED has frozen about ₹ 25 crore in this action. This action has been taken to target the FIEWIN gaming app. Apart from this, the agency has also frozen the cryptocurrency accounts of Chinese citizens associated with the FIEWIN online gaming platform.
About Rs 400 crore transferred to China through gaming app
It is alleged that this gaming app is involved in anti-India activities. Investigation has revealed that about Rs 400 crore was transferred to China through this gaming app. At present, the Enforcement Directorate is also trying to trace the money laundering trail related to this case.
A conspiracy was being hatched to weaken India’s economy
For the first time, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has frozen the cryptocurrency accounts of Chinese citizens associated with the online gaming application FIEWIN. The agency has seized three cryptocurrency accounts of three Chinese individuals. The ED has frozen cryptocurrency accounts worth about ₹ 250 million. In its investigation, the ED revealed that Rs 400 crore has been transferred from India to China through this gaming application.
ED has arrested four Indian citizens in this case. ED’s investigation has revealed that Chinese citizens have defrauded India of about Rs 4 billion using this gaming app. China had hatched a big conspiracy to harm India’s economy through this gaming app.
ED had conducted raids
ED had earlier also raided several places across the country against this gaming application. During this, many Indian citizens were detained. The arrested people had revealed during interrogation that about Rs 400 crore was sent from India to China through this gaming application. Apart from this, ED had also arrested four people in the case of online betting and gaming fraud related to this application.
A case was registered on May 16, 2023, at the Koshipur Police Station in Kolkata under Sections 420, 406 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code in connection with cheating and conspiracy related to the online gaming application “FIEWIN”.
