New Delhi . The army has killed a terrorist in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. The army has also found four blood-stained bags. It is being estimated that four terrorists have either been injured or killed. The army is still continuing the encounter and search operation.
Officials said that in search of foreign terrorists hiding in Shivgarh-Assar Patti, security forces and police cordoned off the area and started a joint search operation and during this an encounter started between them in the dense forest area. Captain Deepak Singh was seriously injured in the encounter with the terrorists, after which he was taken to the military hospital, where he breathed his last. Four bags have been found from the encounter site, which have blood on them. From this it is understood that four terrorists have been killed in the encounter. Also, M-4 carbines have also been recovered from there.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain told reporters at around 2 pm that the operation in the area was still underway. The Army expressed deep condolences over the death of the officer and said the Army stands with the bereaved family. “All ranks of the White Knight Corps salute the supreme sacrifice of brave Captain Deepak Singh,” the Army said. Officials said the militants entered Doda from the jungle near Patnitop in Udhampur district after an exchange of fire between security forces and militants yesterday evening.
According to the officials, the security forces came to know about the presence of terrorists in Udhampur at around 6 pm on Tuesday evening. Half an hour later, an encounter started between them. The security forces surrounded the area from all sides overnight. Officials said that the security forces started the search operation again this morning. Firing started again between the terrorists and the soldiers at around 7.30 am today.
