Complaints about food in trains are common. Recently, when a passenger traveling in a train complained about the food, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporator (IRCTC) has imposed a fine on the food provider. The passenger had lodged a complaint regarding the quality of food and its rate.
In his complaint on social media, the passenger said, the IRCTC dinner employee told that the price of veg thali will be Rs 150.
We clearly said that we want the bill. When he brought the plate, he had added the price in two parts. Along with the plate of Rs 80, the price of Paneer was added separately to Rs 70, making the total Rs 150.
He said, we said that we only want the bill for the veg thali. That’s the only thing we ordered. The employee continued arguing.
After this he gave a bill of Rs 80 for the veg thali and said that you should pay only this much. The passenger says that the IRCTC staff was fooling the passengers.
He used to add unnecessary things and include them in the bill separately. The passenger said that Railways needs to pay attention to this.
The passenger said, the staff is directly robbing the passengers. After this IRCTC responded and said, fine has been imposed on the service provider. IRCTC said that staff involved in overcharging in this manner will be deboarded.
One user replied to this entire thread and said, how do we know that once a fine is imposed, it will not be done again. Passengers will also have to be aware of this. Another person said, the irony is that this happens every day. Passengers are cheated but no one complains.
