New Delhi . Farmer organizations have become active since the Supreme Court ordered the partial opening of Shambhu border connecting Punjab and Haryana which was closed for six months. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal said that the farmers already wanted the Shambhu border to be opened. Due to the closure of the road, traders and transporters were suffering losses worth crores of rupees and the general public was facing problems in commuting. Dallewal said that if the demands of the farmers are not implemented soon, then when the road opens, the farmers will march to Delhi with their tractors and trolleys. The stand of the farmer organizations is clear that the farmers will march to Delhi with their tractors and trolleys under any circumstances.
Farmer leader Dallewal said that farmers going to Delhi with tractor-trolleys are being accused of deteriorating the law and order situation, but he wants to ask that when a large number of farmers left Punjab on tractor-trolleys on February 13, there was no problem on the way. Why does the Haryana government and the Center have a problem with tractor-trolleys? The Haryana government is spreading false propaganda against the farmers at the behest of the Center. If farmers have to protest in Delhi, then it is not possible to go without tractor-trolleys. On the comment of the Supreme Court, Dallewal said that the farmers’ organizations also believe that highways are not for parking, but the farmers have been forced to stay here. The agitation will continue till the demands are met. Now the return will happen only when the demands are met. At the same time, during the hearing today, the Supreme Court refused to stay the order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, under which a judicial inquiry was asked to be conducted into the death of young farmer Shubhkaran Singh who died in the farmers’ movement.
