A fatwa has been issued against a Muslim religious leader for attending the Ram Mandir Pran Pratistha ceremony.
This religious leader is Dr. Imam Omar Ahmed Ilyasi, Chief of All India Imam Organization. Dr. Ilyasi had participated in the inauguration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya on 22 January.
Imam said that this fatwa has been issued on Sunday. But he is being threatened since the Ram Mandir program. In these threats, there is talk of killing and abusive words are also being used against the family.
Since the evening of 22 January
Dr. Imam Omar Ahmed Ilyasi told that in the message given from Ayodhya, I had said that our ways of worship can be different.
Our religions may be different, but we all live in India and we are all Indians. Let us all strengthen India and let us strengthen the country. As soon as my message went viral, everyone came to know that the Chief Imam had passed away.
Now this fatwa has been issued against me on Sunday. Dr. Ilyasi told that, however, from the evening of January 22, threats started coming on all my numbers from different places. I and my family have been abused.
I have even been threatened with death.
Those giving threats should go to Pakistan
Dr. Ilyasi told that I have recorded some of the phone calls that threatened me.
He said that those who love the country, also love me and support me. Chief Imam said that if some people are hating me just because I participated in Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha, then such people should go to Pakistan.
He said that I have given the message of love and brotherhood. I have not committed any crime. I will neither apologize nor resign. Let those making threats do whatever they want.
Went to Ayodhya for the sake of the country
Dr. Ilyasi said on this matter that being the Chief Imam, I had received an invitation from the Ram Mandir Trust.
Talking to news agency ANI, he said that he thought about it for two days because it was the biggest decision of his life.
Imam told that in the end, for mutual harmony, for the country and in the national interest, I decided to go to Ayodhya. Doctor Ilyasi told that I was welcomed very warmly there.
The sages and saints also respected me a lot. He said that after this I also gave the message of love from there.
