Police have taken strict action against stone pelting and clashes in the rally called by Hindu organizations regarding the mosque dispute in Uttarkashi. Uttarkashi Police has registered a case against 8 named and 200 unidentified people in this case. The names of all these have also been revealed. A case has been registered against all of them under serious sections. In connection with the clash in Uttarkashi, the police have booked Jitendra Chauhan, Sonu Negi, Suraj Dabral, Kulbir Rana, Sushil Sharma, Gautam Rawat, Alok Rawat and Satendra Parmar for murderous assault under section 109 of the Indian Penal Code and cases of causing hurt to a government employee. Section 121 (2) has been imposed. 14 sections of the Indian Justice Code have been imposed on the miscreants. Apart from these, a case has been registered against two hundred unknown people.
Section 163 imposed in the area after the clash
In fact, there is tension in the entire area in Uttarkashi on Thursday after a public protest rally by a Hindu organization demanding the removal of a mosque allegedly built on government land. In view of this, the administration has imposed prohibitory orders in the district. Uttarkashi District Magistrate Meharban Singh Bisht has imposed prohibitory orders under section 163 of the Indian Judicial Code. Under which a ban has been imposed on gathering of five or more people, protesting and taking out processions. However, the atmosphere is peaceful on Saturday, the third day of this incident. The police also conducted a flag march on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Uttarkashi Superintendent of Police Amit Srivastava said here that conditional permission was given for the rally to be taken out by Sanyukt Sanatan Dharma Rakshak Sangh. But the protesters were adamant on taking another route and tried to remove the blockades. He said that during this time some of the protesters started pelting stones, after which the police had to disperse them from there by using mild force.
Policemen also suffered injuries
Srivastava said that during this period, a total of eight policemen also got injured, in which Inspector Ashutosh Singh and Havildar Anil Kumar were seriously injured. He told that some protesters were also injured in this. Srivastava said that there is complete peace and order in the district. He also appealed to the public to cooperate in maintaining peace. Medical Superintendent of Uttarkashi District Hospital, Dr. Prem Pokhriyal had said that 20 protesters, including two women, were admitted to the hospital. Most of whom were discharged in the evening itself. Uttarkashi Kotwali in-charge Inspector Amarjit Singh said that the police has registered a case against eight named and 200 unidentified people in connection with the uproar that took place during the rally.
