Gurugram. On the night of Diwali, 57 incidents of fire caused by firecrackers were reported, in which eight people got burnt and six vehicles were burnt to scrap. Property worth lakhs has been damaged due to fire incidents, although there is no news of any loss of life. Giving information, Gurugram’s fire department said that five of the burnt people are undergoing treatment in the hospital, while three seriously injured have been sent to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
Gurugram fire department had made special preparations to control the fire in time. The Deputy Director said that in view of security on the night of Diwali, fire vehicles were deployed at ten places in the city, so that fire incidents could be controlled immediately. He said that there were no casualties in these incidents, but there was huge damage to property. Apart from burning vehicles, many residential and commercial buildings have also been damaged. The incidents of fire in Gurugram on Diwali night have once again underlined the need for safe use of firecrackers and fire prevention measures. While the fire department promptly brought the situation under control, the administration is advising people to take precautions to avoid such accidents in future.
