Fire broke out due to blast in IOCL refinery of Vadodara, smoke visible several kilometers away

Vadodara. A massive blast occurred on Monday in the refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) located in Koyli area of ​​Vadodara. The explosion caused a massive fire in the refinery. The fire was so fierce that the plume of smoke was seen several kilometers away. Two workers are reported to have been injured in the accident. Sources said that the blast took place in the benzene tank of IOCL’s refinery. After the explosion a massive fire broke out in the refinery. There is an atmosphere of panic in the nearby companies after the fire. The administration team has reached the spot to control the fire. About 10 fire engines were used to extinguish the fire. According to sources the fire has been brought under control. According to initial information, a 1000 kiloliter benzene tank caught fire after a massive explosion. Vadodara District Collector Bijal Shah said that the explosion occurred at around 3.50 pm. The refinery located in Koyli area of ​​Vadodara is a Government of India undertaking of Indian Oil Corporation. Let us tell you that about 20 years ago in 2005, there was an explosion in the Gujarat Refinery of Indian Oil Corporation. 13 people were injured at that time.
