Hapur. Hapur Dehat police station raided a house and recovered firecrackers worth Rs 3 lakh. Police have recovered a huge quantity of firecrackers, 109 kg of explosives and equipment used in making firecrackers from the spot. Police have arrested two accused. No information has been received yet from where the explosives for the firecrackers were procured. Police are interrogating the accused.
Inspector in-charge of Dehat police station said that late on Monday night, police received information that some people were making firecrackers in a house located near Mohalla Indragarhi railway gate. After the information, he reached the house with the team and raided it.
As soon as the police got wind of their arrival, there was a stampede among the people present in the house. Police cordoned off the spot and arrested Shanu alias Shahnawaz of Old Bazaar Mohalla Gaddapara and Mansoor of Mohalla Kanoon Goyan. During the investigation, firecrackers worth Rs 5 lakh packed in plastic boxes were recovered from the house. A report has been registered against both of them in the matter. From where has the consignment of firecrackers been procured? Who is involved in this business? Information about this is being obtained. Whoever is found involved in this business will be arrested and strict action will be taken against him. There is a complete ban on the manufacture and sale of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR. Still, firecrackers are being manufactured in the house. It is being told that the recovered firecrackers were to be supplied in Delhi-NCR.
