First level checking of EVM machines will be done from 5th February… – NNSP

Online training organized by Election Commission for District Election Officers and Sub District Election Officers

The Election Commission of India has given instructions to complete the first level checking (FLC) of all electronic voting machines (EVMs) from February 5 to February 14 before the Lok Sabha elections. To successfully complete the investigation, the Election Commission conducted online training for all the district and sub-district election officers and technical teams of the state.

During the training, Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Baba Saheb Kangale told that first level checking (FLC) of Ballot Unit, Control Unit and VVPAT will be done in each district headquarters.

He said that representatives of all recognized political parties have been requested through the District Election Officers to be present during the investigation. Apart from this, information in this regard has also been sent to recognized parties at the state level.

Mrs. Kangale said that EVMs of such assembly constituencies will be kept separate from investigation where cases are pending in the courts regarding the election results. Testing of EVM units of all remaining areas will be completed from 05 to 14 February.

During the online training organized under the supervision of Shri B.S. Patra, Secretary, Election Commission of India, all the important points related to checking of EVM machines were highlighted. Necessary guidance was also provided regarding various aspects of Lok Sabha election preparations.

During the training, Jharkhand’s nodal officer and trainer Mrs. Geeta Choubey highlighted the administrative aspects and Mr. PC Mandal, Deputy General Manager of Electronics Corporation of India, highlighted the technical aspects related to EVM testing. In the training, all the District Election Officers and Deputy District Election Officers, technical team members along with Joint Chief Electoral Officer Mr. P.S. Dhruv, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Mr. US Aggarwal, Mr. Apoorva Priyesh Toppo, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Rupesh Verma and Shri Arvind Sharma was present.
