Today i.e. 29th February opened with a slight decline. Both benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty are trading on a flat note.
Around 9:45 am, Sensex was seen trading at 72,395.98 with a gain of 91.09 points (0.13%) and Nifty was seen trading at 21,957.30 with a gain of 6.15 points (0.028%).
On the Nifty, Reliance Industries, Coal India, JSW Steel, IndusInd Bank and Bharti Airtel were major gainers, while Bajaj Auto, Tata Consumer, TCS, Infosys and Britannia Industries were among the losers.
Yesterday, amid a weak trend globally, the 30-share Sensex fell by 790.34 points or 1.08 percent and closed at 72,304.88 points.
With this, the market capitalization of BSE listed companies decreased by Rs 6,02,338.56 crore to Rs 3,85,97,298.49 crore ($4,710 billion).
At the same time, Nifty of National Stock Exchange based on fifty shares also closed at 21,951.15 points with a decline of 247.20 points or 1.11 percent.
According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the capital market. He sold shares worth Rs 1,879.23 crore on Wednesday.
