Dhaka. Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia reached the US Embassy here on Wednesday and completed the process of her visa application. She is getting the visa done at a time when Donald Trump won the US presidential election earlier this month. Trump will take the oath of office on January 20 next year.
Khaleda is struggling with many health problems
People associated with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) said that all necessary arrangements have been made to send the 79-year-old former prime minister abroad for special treatment. Khaleda can go to Britain next month and from there to America or Germany. She is suffering from many problems related to liver, kidney, heart, lungs and eyes.
BNP chief Khaleda got a big relief in a corruption case on Wednesday itself. The High Court acquitted him. In 2018, a Dhaka court had sentenced him to seven years in jail in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.
