Former ISI chief Faiz Hamid arrested by army, Pakistani army preparing for court martial

Islamabad. The Pakistani army on Monday arrested its former general and the country’s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Faiz Hameed. Faiz’s arrest has been confirmed by the Pakistani army’s wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). Now preparations are being made for his court martial.

According to the information given by ISPR, Faiz Hameed has been taken into military custody. After which the process of his court martial has been started in connection with the Top City Housing Scheme scam. In fact, “following the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, a team of the Pakistani Army had investigated to find out the complaints made against former Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed in the Top City case, in which many cases have come to light against Faiz Ahmed.

The ISPR also said that strict disciplinary action has been initiated against the retired chief under various provisions of the Pakistan Army. It further said that several cases have also been registered against the former general for violating the Pakistan Army Act after his retirement. Faiz Hamid has also served as the Peshawar Corps Commander.
