Bhagalpur. Regarding the collapse of the bridge in Bihar, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav has said that how much money was wasted in the name of Namami Gange. Not only one bridge has been washed away in Bihar, many bridges have been washed away. If the maximum number of bridges have been washed away anywhere in the country, then it is probably in Bihar.
He has said that there are many reasons for it. Many times rivers change their course. When rivers change their course, who is responsible for it? The bigger question is what about the thousands of crores of rupees that came in the name of Namami Gange and cleaning of Ganga.
Meanwhile, on the collapse of the under-construction Agwani bridge in Bhagalpur-Sultanganj for the third time in Bihar, the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited has said that an additional part of the bridge was damaged for the first time on 30 April 2022 during construction. Which has been instructed to be demolished and removed.
Meanwhile, the second part of the bridge being built using this technology was damaged on 4 June 2023. After investigation, its design was found to be faulty, after which the work on the bridge was stopped. The contractor has been ordered to remove all the parts being constructed using this technology.
Meanwhile, the remaining portion of the earlier damaged section which was being removed, got damaged today due to the rise in the water level and strong current of River Ganga.
