Four employees died after being hit by Kerala Express – NNSP

Palakkad. Four sanitation workers died after being hit by Kerala Express going from New Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram. Railway police said that this tragic accident happened near Shoranur railway station, where four sanitation workers, including two women from Tamil Nadu, died after colliding with the Kerala Express. The train hit the workers around 3.05 pm when they were clearing garbage from the railway track near Shoranur bridge. Employees employed by the Railways for cleaning work fell off the track due to the collision. Three bodies have been recovered from the area, while efforts are on to trace the fourth body, which is suspected to have fallen into the Bharatpuzha river. After receiving information about the accident, a team of Railway Police reached the spot. An official of Shoranur Railway Police said that the employees may not have seen the train coming, due to which the accident occurred, further investigation is underway.
