Kanker. Four Naxalites active in the district have surrendered before the police. The government had announced a reward of Rs 12 lakh on them. Four Naxalites surrendered before DIG BSF Harinder Pal Singh Sohi, DIG Police KL Dhruv, SP Indira Kalyan Elesela. Police said that Surjanna alias Sitay Korram (Kuagari LOS Commander) has Rs 5 lakh weapon-SLR/28 rounds, Maresh alias Lakku Punem (Kupemari Area Committee member) has Rs 5 lakh Uchimar-SLR/28 rounds, Sagar alias Ganga Video (Kupemari LOS member) has Rs 1 lakh weapon 303/19 rounds, Anju alias Sarita Shauri (Kupemari LOS member) has Rs 1 lakh Dachibar-Singleshot/10, all of them were active in Kuamari Area Committee of North Bastar Division. Officials said that these four Maoists have surrendered after being influenced by the rehabilitation policy of the government. Under the rehabilitation policy, all four were given an incentive amount of Rs 25,000 each.
