Girl student murder case in Jaynagar: Amidst the ongoing protests against incidents of brutality against female doctors, an incident of alleged rape and murder of a fourth class student has come to light in Jaynagar police station area of South 24 Parganas district. In protest against this incident, the angry mob set fire to the police post and demonstrated by blocking the main road of the area.
Fourth class student raped and murdered
Amidst the ongoing protests over the incident of brutality against a female doctor in RG Kar Hospital, now an incident of alleged rape and murder of a fourth class student has come to light in Jaynagar police station area of South 24 Parganas district of Bengal.
Slogans were raised against the police team
As soon as the local people got information about this incident, they became furious and huge ruckus has been going on since Saturday morning. The angry people accused the police of inaction and raised slogans against the police team that reached the spot and chased them away. Besides, the house of the accused and the local Mahishamari police post were also heavily vandalized.
Police post set on fire
The mob even set the police post on fire. Protests were also held by blocking the main road in the area. The women, carrying sticks, chased even the SDPO of Baruipur who reached the spot. Police used tear gas to disperse the agitated crowd. There is an atmosphere of widespread tension in the entire area.
At the same time, Mostakin Sardar, accused in this incident, has been arrested. Regarding the incident, it is said that the student had left for tuition on Friday afternoon. She did not return home even after it became night. The student’s father went to Jaynagar police station at night. Allegedly, the police refused to take a missing complaint from him at that time.
Girl student’s body found near reservoir
Late night, the girl student’s body was recovered from near a reservoir, 500 meters away from her house. There were many injury marks on his body. Local people claim that the student was raped and murdered. After receiving the information, when the police arrived and started the process of sending the body for post-mortem, the local people became furious.
Local people claim that if the police had taken action earlier, the girl student would not have been murdered. Angry local people surrounded the police and started protesting. The women chased away the police with brooms. In view of the incident, heavy police force has been deployed in the area.
BJP’s attack on Mamta government
Here, the main opposition in the state, BJP has cornered the state government regarding this incident. State BJP President and Union Minister Sukant Majumdar said that women are not safe under Mamata Banerjee’s rule. One after another women and girls are becoming victims of brutality.
