New Delhi. India made an exemplary performance focusing on women-led development at the 10th Summit of the G-20 Parliaments held in Brazil. As the Indian representative, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh made India’s challenges and successes the topic of discussion in the conference. Emphasizing the importance of women-led development, she lauded India’s innovative schemes and programs for women. Along with this, significant contribution was made in the empowerment of rural women by providing them technical assistance through Namo Drone Didi program. The joint meeting witnessed in-depth discussions on shared values and issues between the Indian and Brazilian parliamentary leaders. Highlighting the need to take steps for women’s economic independence and social security, Manoj Kumar Jha, Member of Parliament of India, conveyed important schemes. The initiatives of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Stand Up India, Start Up India, which help women achieve economic independence, challenge conventional thinking.
