Islamabad. In Sindh, Pakistan, a girl allegedly killed 13 people of her family by mixing poison in their food. The reason for this has also come to light. Actually, the girl’s family was not ready to marry her as per her choice. According to the information, these deaths took place on August 19 in Haibat Khan Brohi village near Khairpur. Now it has been revealed that she along with her lover conspired to poison all the family members including her parents.
All 13 members fell ill after eating the food and were taken to hospital where they all died, a senior police officer said. When the post-mortem was done, it was found that these people had died due to consuming poisonous food. He told that when the police conducted a thorough investigation, it was found that the daughter and her lover had mixed poison in the wheat used to make roti at home. After this the police arrested him on Sunday.
On August 19, nine members of the family died after falling ill after having dinner at home. Four others also died during treatment in hospital the next day. The incident was reported at the police station and it was believed that the cause of his death was some mysterious illness or food poisoning. Police started investigation from various angles. The police obtained the postmortem reports of two bodies and worked on them to find out what kind of poisonous substance caused so many deaths. During investigation they came to the conclusion that poison was mixed in the food consumed by the victims.
The DSP said they started questioning Shaista Brohi, one of the surviving members of the joint family living at the same place. During several harsh interrogations she finally broke down and confessed that she had mixed poison in the food given to the family. She said that this liquid was given to her by her boyfriend Aamir Baksh Brohi. The DSP said that Shaista was in love with Aamir Baksh but her family was not agreeable to the proposal. She said that one day Aamir gave her a liquid and asked her to mix it with food. He assured her that after eating this his family would agree to the marriage proposal and then they would be able to get married. A video clip purportedly uploaded by Shaista on social media also shows her making such a statement. The DSP said that Shaista and Aamir Baksh were arrested after a case was registered against them at Baradi Jatoi police station.
