Good rain in monsoon, missing in post monsoon, Himachal longs for rain

New Delhi. This time there was good monsoon rain across the country but post monsoon rain is negligible. Due to prolonged dry weather in Himachal Pradesh, the day temperature in most areas on Thursday was four to six degrees above normal. Let us tell you that since October there has been a decrease of 97 percent in rainfall.

Bilaspur was the hottest in the state, where the maximum temperature was 33.3 degrees, which was 4.7 degrees above normal. In Dharamshala, Sundernagar, Keylong and Shimla, the maximum temperatures were recorded at 30.8 degrees, 33.2 degrees, 16.5 degrees and 24.8 degrees, which were 6.4 degrees, 5.6 degrees, 5.5 degrees and 5.2 degrees above normal. The Meteorological Department said that the state received an average of 0.7 mm rainfall from October 1 to October 24, whereas the normal rainfall is 22.9 mm, i.e. there was a deficiency of 97 percent.

There was no rain in Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kullu, Sirmaur and Solan districts during this period. There was a shortage of 99 per cent in Lahaul and Spiti and Shimla districts, 98 per cent in Kinnaur and 94 per cent in Kangra district. Mandi and Una districts recorded 82 and 52 percent deficient rainfall. The Meteorological Department said that the dry weather will continue till October 31.
