The government has so far blocked 1.4 lakh mobile numbers to control digital fraud.

According to an official release, these mobile numbers were involved in financial fraud. Financial Services Secretary Vivek Joshi on Friday chaired a meeting on cyber security in the financial services sector.

Various issues were discussed including onboarding of banks and financial institutions on Citizen Financial Cyber ​​Fraud Information and Management System (CFCFRMS) platform through API (Application Programming Interface) integration.

According to the statement, the CFCFRMS platform will be integrated with the National Cyber ​​Crime Information Portal (NCRP). This will enable better coordination between police, banks and financial institutions.

The statement said that the Department of Telecommunications analyzed 35 lakh primary units sending bulk SMS. Of these, 19,776 entities involved in sending malicious SMS were blacklisted.

More than 500 arrests have been made in this regard and around 3.08 lakh SIMs have been blocked.
