Before the assembly elections in Haryana, there is a tussle going on between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding seat sharing. No decision has been taken on this till now.
On the other hand, a section of Congress itself is completely against the alliance with AAP. 1
2 September is the last date for nomination and no talks have been held on seat sharing so far. There is every possibility that Aam Aadmi Party and Congress will contest the elections separately.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Sandeep Pathak said that we are ready to contest elections alone on all seats. Those who are underestimating us will have to regret later.
It is clear from Sandeep Pathak’s words that Congress wants as many seats as possible. Whereas Aam Aadmi Party is not ready to compromise on fewer seats.
Congress general secretary Deepak Babaria said that talks are still going on between the two parties and no decision has been taken. It may take a day or two.
Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha spoke to Deepak Babaria on Saturday. The Aam Aadmi Party leader had said that no one should underestimate the strength of the Aam Aadmi Party in Haryana.
Congress has released the first list of 32 candidates. After this, the stand of Aam Aadmi Party seems to be more strict.
According to the report of The Tribune, Aam Aadmi Party wants to contest on some of the seats on which Congress has announced its candidates.
According to Congress sources, the party does not want to leave those seats on which its position is considered strong. After the third round of meeting, Babaria said, discussions are going on about seat sharing.
Meanwhile, Congress sources said that Aam Aadmi Party was demanding about 20 seats, on which Congress was not ready. There are a total of 90 seats in Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
The Congress unit of Haryana also does not want an alliance. Whereas the AICC high command is in favour of maintaining the unity of the All India Alliance.
Rahul Gandhi also wants the alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party to continue. Sources in the Aam Aadmi Party say that the party is preparing to contest at least 50 out of 90 seats.
The party may release the list of candidates by Sunday. Some people say that the talks with Congress are almost over.
