The Meteorological Department estimates that in the month of April itself, heat wave will last for 20 days in many states including Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
After the scorching heat in Ahmedabad, it has been announced to close 100 traffic signals from 12 noon to 4 pm. There has been a change in school timings in most places of the state.
IMD has issued a heat wave warning for the next 5 days in many states including West Bengal, Odisha, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh. However, there is news of some relief from North Indian states. The weather is going to change in Delhi, UP and Uttarakhand.
Many states of India are facing terrible heatwave since the month of April. By June, about 85% of the entire country will be burnt in fire.
Last year this figure was 60%. Heat wave conditions in Karnataka are due to increase in El Nino effect. People of the capital Bengaluru are also facing severe heat amidst water crisis.
The maximum temperature here reached 37 degrees on Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday, the maximum temperature was 37.2 degrees, which is the highest since 2016.
heatwave in the next few days
Meteorologists predict that the temperature level will increase in the next few days. The temperature is expected to rise by 2 degrees in Bengaluru City, Bengaluru Rural, Mandya, Tumkur and Mysuru regions in the next five days.
Heat wave warning has been issued for the next three days in northern Karnataka areas – Bagalkot, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Koppala and Gadag. However, Bengaluru is expected to get some respite from the heat with light rain by April 8 or 9.
Traffic signal closed in Ahmedabad, timings of schools changed
The scorching heat continues to wreak havoc in many cities of Gujarat. The temperature here has reached 40 degrees. To provide relief from the scorching heat, the education committee run by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has changed the timing of 425 schools.
To give relief to the children from the heat, the afternoon shift has also been called in the morning. Apart from this, the traffic police in Ahmedabad has announced to keep 100 traffic signals of the city closed for four hours.
According to the police, to provide relief to people from the heat, signals will not operate between 12 noon and 4 pm. That means people will not have to stop at the signal.
Heavy rain and snowfall in these states
The Meteorological Department has said about hailstorm in Mizoram. There is a possibility of thunderstorm and storm in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram. There may be rain and snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh from April 3 to April 7.
Whereas there is a possibility of very heavy rain on April 6. Assam and Meghalaya may receive heavy rain on 4th and 5th. There was light to moderate rainfall in the plains of Kashmir Valley on Wednesday.
Due to which the temperature dropped and normal activities were disrupted. The weather is likely to remain cold even today.
How will the weather be in Delhi and UP?
IMD has said that the weather is likely to remain dry in all areas of UP for April 4. However, no alert of any kind has been issued across the state.
The weather may remain like this for the next three days. Talking about Delhi-NCR, the weather is likely to change from tomorrow. There is a possibility of light rain for the next five days.
However, today the weather will remain dry. People may get some relief from the heat during the day and at night.
