India Meteorological Department (IMD) has today issued a rain warning in many parts of the country for October 8, 2024. With the departure of monsoon, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Kerala due to the cyclonic circulation formed in the Bay of Bengal. Apart from this, there is an alert of heavy rain in 7 states and light rain is forecast in 10 states. There is also a possibility of light snowfall on the mountains in Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
Temperature and air quality in Delhi
The maximum temperature recorded in Delhi today is 32.15°C, while the minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be 23.05°C and 36.46°C. There is 44% humidity in the air in the capital and the wind is blowing at a speed of 44 km/hour. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached a dangerous level of 500, making the air pollution situation serious.
Chance of cold and snowfall
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in Delhi will start decreasing from the third week of October and the effect of cold will be visible. This time the winter is likely to be more intense. A warning of light snowfall has also been issued in the mountains of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
There will be heavy rain in these states
Today, heavy rain warning has been issued in Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura. At the same time, light to moderate rain may occur in Maharashtra, Goa, and Gujarat.
