Ayyash was one of the most dreaded terrorists of Hezbollah. America was also looking for this for a long time. America had announced a reward of Rs 85 crore on this.
Unconfirmed reports claimed Ayyash was killed in the strike near the Syrian city of al-Qusayr, The Times of Israel reported.
According to the US State Department, Ayyash was a very dreaded terrorist and is also accused of killing many innocent people.
America had placed a reward of 10 million dollars (about Rs 85 crore) on his head. He worked for Hezbollah’s Unit 151 Killing Squad.
In 2020, Ayyash was sentenced to life imprisonment by a UN-backed tribunal for the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in a suicide bombing in Beirut in 2005.
Tunnel found under cemetery in Lebanon
The Israeli military says Israeli troops operating in southern Lebanon this week have found a large Hezbollah tunnel beneath a cemetery.
It has been sealed with immediate effect. The Israeli Air Force’s Shaldag unit and ground troops from the 36th Division raided the site this week. The IDF says the tunnel’s entry gate was hidden in a cemetery.
The IDF says soldiers found command and control rooms, sleeping rooms and weapons stores inside the tunnel.
A video released by the IDF showed dozens of weapons and other military equipment being stored in the tunnel.
According to the IDF, the tunnel was used by Hezbollah to plan an attack on Israel.
The Army says that after the map of the tunnel was prepared, 4,500 cubic meters of concrete was poured into it and sealed.
