New Delhi . A unique festival is celebrated in Mehrauli, Delhi. People of both Hindu and Muslim communities celebrate this festival together with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm. This festival is known as Phoolwalon ki Sair. While on one hand a sheet of flowers is offered at the shrine of the great Sufi saint Khwaja Qutubuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki, a disciple of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, on the other hand, a fan and umbrella of flowers is offered at the Shri Yoga Maya Temple located in the same area. Let us tell you that people from both Hindu and Muslim communities are present on both the occasions. Just as Eid and Diwali are celebrated with great pomp, the visit of flower vendors is also celebrated in the same way. This year the Phoolwalon Ki Sair celebration was celebrated from 20th to 26th October.
What is the walk of the flower growers?
The Flower Walk held in Mehrauli area is a centuries-old festival. It is celebrated after monsoon and just before the onset of winter. This is a festival that has been going on since the Mughal era, which testifies to communal harmony, national unity and the Ganga-Jamuni culture of India. The responsibility of organizing the flower walk is taken up by Anjuman Sair-e-Gul Farosan, which is a committee formed specifically for this purpose. People of both Hindu and Muslim communities not only visit temples and dargahs as per tradition, but many other activities are also included in this one week celebration.
