Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the figures of Naxalites killed by security forces in the last 9 months.
Amit Shah said on Monday that in the last nine months, 194 Naxalites have been killed, while 801 have been arrested.
The Union Minister said that our action is to eliminate Naxal. Accepting our appeal, 742 Naxalites have laid down their arms and accepted to join the mainstream.
While chairing a review meeting with Left Wing Extremism affected states in Delhi, the Minister said that we still appeal to the Naxalites to give up weapons and come into the mainstream.
He said that in the recent past, about 13 thousand persons have joined the mainstream in the North-East and Jammu and Kashmir.
Praising the ongoing anti-Naxalite campaign in Chhatishgarh, the Home Minister said that I congratulate the Chief Minister, Home Minister, DGP and the entire team.
Naxalism will soon be eliminated under his leadership. Since January, 194 Naxalites have been killed, 801 Naxalites have been arrested and 742 Naxalites have surrendered.
Security related expenditure increased three times in last 10 years
Making public the figures of security expenditure of the last ten years, the Home Minister said that we have spent three times more than what was spent between 2004 and 2014.
We are developing rapidly in Naxal affected areas. Under the Special Central Assistance Scheme in these development works, we have spent about Rs 3590 crore in the last ten years.
Shah said that till 2019, only 2 helicopters were deployed for the security forces in the area, but today a total of 12 helicopters, six from BSF and six from Air Force, are deployed here to help the soldiers.
We are committed to our plan to soon eradicate Naxalism and develop those areas.
544 strong police stations were built in the last 10 years- Shah
Shah said that 544 strong police stations have been created in the last 10 years. Earlier the road network was 2900 km, in the last 10 years the road network has increased to 11,500 km.
15,300 mobile towers have been installed in the last 10 years. Also before 2014, 38 Eklavya Model Schools were sanctioned, but none of them were built.
Now 216 schools were sanctioned, of which 165 have been constructed.
