Horrific road accident in Texas, 4 Indians trapped inside SUV burn to death after it catches fire; DNA test will identify them

A terrible accident happened in Texas, America.

In which four Indians including a woman were burnt to death. Police say that all the people were connected through a carpooling app and five vehicles were involved in the accident.

They were on their way to Bentonville, Arkansas when the accident happened. The accident is said to have happened when a truck hit an SUV. All the passengers were in the SUV.

Police officials say that it is very difficult to identify the bodies and they can be identified only through DNA test.

The deceased in the accident last Friday have been identified as Aryan Raghunath Orampati, Farooq Shaikh, Lokesh Palacharla and Darshini Vasudevan.

Orampati and his friend Shaikh were returning after visiting their cousin in Dallas. Lokesh was going to Bentonville to meet his wife and Darshini Vasudevan, a master’s student at the University of Texas, was going to visit her uncle in Bentonville.

They were all connected through a carpooling app. Police officials say this will help in identifying them.

Where were the four Indians from?

Aryan’s father Subhash Chandra Reddy is the owner of a Hyderabad-based firm called Max Agri Genetics Pvt Ltd. Aryan has completed his engineering degree from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore.

A relative of Aryan said, “His parents were in the US in May for his convocation at the University of Texas. After the convocation, they asked him to return to India but he said he wanted to work in the US for two more years. Perhaps this was fate’s will.”

Aryan’s friend Shaikh was also from Hyderabad and lived in Bentonville. Darshini from Tamil Nadu lived in Frisco, Texas. Meanwhile, Farooq Shaikh’s father Mastan Wali said that they had gone to the US three years ago. “He had gone to the US to complete his MS degree.”

How did the accident happen

According to reports, the speeding truck hit the SUV from behind in which the five were travelling. The car caught fire and all the occupants were burnt to death.

Officials are now relying on DNA fingerprinting and remains of teeth and bones to identify the bodies. “The samples will be matched with the parents to identify the bodies,” a local official said.

On the other hand, due to the long holiday in America, the identification process is getting delayed, due to which the victim families are in trouble. Darshini Vasudevan’s parents have appealed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for help.
