Washington. A few days ago in America, Cyclonic Storm Helen caused massive destruction in big cities like Florida. At the same time, now Tropical Storm Sara is reaching Central America. Due to this storm, there is a possibility of devastating floods, rains and landslides. This storm will hit the coast of northern Honduras. In Sara, winds are blowing at a maximum speed of 40 miles per hour.
Earlier forecasts from the National Hurricane Center had told residents of the eastern Gulf of Mexico to keep an eye on the possibility of the storm reaching the US, but the center now believes the storm will reach Central America and Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Will be much slower.
Sara is the 18th named storm of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season. Tropical activity should subside in November, but Sarah is now the third named storm of the month due to exceptionally warm waters caused by climate change.
Storm warning has been issued
Tropical storm warnings have been issued for parts of Honduras and Nicaragua. Stormy rains in both countries started on Thursday and will bring strong winds in the evening and will intensify on Friday.
According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm will have strong winds and could produce heavy rainfall with devastating flooding and landslides. Parts of northern Honduras could receive up to 30 inches of rain. Other parts of Central America from eastern Mexico to Nicaragua could see up to 15 inches of rain from Sara. Mostly, the Caribbean and parts of Central America suffered heavy damage from November hurricanes.
