Why did Suchana Seth, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a startup company in Bengaluru, kill her son? Why was she taking Maloom’s body to her home after the murder? These are the questions whose answers the police is trying to find. The information was presented in the Goa Children’s Court on Monday. The police told the court that they were yet to ascertain the motive for the crime. There is also a need to confront the accused with the statement given by her estranged husband Venkat Raman. Appealing for extension of custody, the police told the court that the accused was not cooperating in the investigation. The court accepted this and Seth’s police custody was extended for 5 days.
Suchana Seth, 39, was arrested on January 8 from Chitradurga in Karnataka when she was traveling in a taxi with her son’s body in a bag. He was brought to Goa from there. Seth is accused of murdering his 4-year-old son in a service apartment in Candolim, Goa. According to the report, after the murder of the innocent child, she wanted to take the body to Bengaluru. Seth wanted to take the child’s body to the same house where she lived. It is being told that even after reaching home, the intention was to keep the dead body in his room until the truth came to light. Actually, Suchana was adamant that her son should stay with her… not with her estranged husband who lives in Bengaluru.
Suchana Seth is continuously denying the murder of her son.
Senior police officer said that the accused is not cooperating with the investigators at all. She continues to deny killing her son. “She is confirming all other parts, including that she carried the child’s body in the bag,” he said. But he refuses to believe that he killed her. She repeatedly claims that her husband is responsible for the child’s death.’
Now there is a demand for DNA test of Soochana Seth
The police told the court that they want to conduct a DNA test to match the accused and the child for which samples need to be collected. The official said this is part of the process. He said that we also have to complete other formalities like taking DNA sample of Seth. We are yet to find out the motive for the murder. He said, ‘The recording of the statement of Suchana Seth’s husband Venkat Raman has been completed. The IO i.e. the investigating officer wanted to re-examine this statement in front of him, for which there was a need to extend the custody.
