I did not come to make a career, Gadkari said on the race for the post of PM; Talk openly on Fadnavis also…

There is a lot of discussion about the relations of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He himself has responded to all the discussions.

He has told how his relations are with PM Modi and Fadnavis. He has also put an end to the speculations about joining the race to become the candidate for the post of Prime Minister.

In an interview, Gadkari dismissed speculations of differences with Fadnavis and said that he was Fadnavis’s mentor.

Gadkari also said that he has not come to make a career in politics. He prefers to remain a grassroots level activist and RSS volunteer.

When asked about PM Modi, Gadkari said that he had done a very good job as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Declaring him as the PM candidate in 2014 helped BJP win the 2014 elections.

In 2019 also we repeated our excellent performance under his leadership. Today, after ten years, we are in a position to say that what BJP achieved in one decade, Congress could not even in the last 60-65 years.

The people of the country have expressed confidence in the Modi government. Will elect us once again by a record margin. Gadkari said that we will definitely cross the 400 mark.

What did Gadkari say on the question of removal from BJP Parliamentary Board?
Answering this question, he said that I believe that politics is a means of socio-economic reforms. That’s why I have no attraction for posts. My relations with PM Modi are very cordial.

How is your relationship with Fadnavis?
In response to this question, Gadkari said that there is speculation that there is no unanimity with Fadnavis on some issues. I initiated Fadnavis’s political entry after meeting his father. When there are two big leaders from the same region, people keep speculating.

I do not interfere in this matter. Nor do I have any complaints. There is no difference of opinion between us. State BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule also takes advice from me. I tell them to take a decision only after considering the pros and cons.

What did Gadkari say on his candidature for the post of Prime Minister?
In response to this question, Gadkari said that I was never in the race for the post of Prime Minister. Today I am satisfied with whatever I am. I am a committed BJP worker with strong beliefs.

I am not a leader who keeps accounts. I believe in sabka saath sabka vikas. The NDA government is doing commendable work under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I am confident that we will form the government again at the Center for the third time under the leadership of Modi.
