A controversy has arisen over the statement of Laura Loomer, an aide to former US President Donald Trump.
He mocked Kamala Harris’ Indian heritage and said the White House would smell like curry if the Democratic candidate became president.
He is facing criticism for this. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre questioned Trump’s association with Loomer after her post against Harris and called it disgusting.
He said, ‘This is a hateful comment and we must condemn it. It should not be part of the fabric of this country. No matter your political views, you must condemn such hateful statements in one voice.’
Some supporters of Donald Trump also did not like this comment. Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Green said, ‘Trump has nothing to do with this statement. This type of behavior should never be tolerated.’ Loomer made this comment on X on Sunday. She said, ‘If the Vice President wins the November 5 election, the smell of vegetables will spread in the White House. White House speeches will be given through the call center. The American people will be able to give their feedback only through the customer satisfaction survey at the end of the call, which no one will be able to understand.’
Harris’s mother went to the US at the age of 19
Lamur, 31, made this comment while reacting to a photo posted by Harris. In this, the Vice President talked about her grandparents who came from India.
It is known that Harris’s mother Shyamala Gopalan came to America at the age of 19 to pursue higher education. Her father Donald J. Harris is from Jamaica. When Jean-Pierre was asked about these comments during the press conference, he called them disgusting.
He said no leader should ever associate with someone who spreads such hatred. This is racist poison.
