The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday released its manifesto for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, promising to enact an anti-conversion law with stringent provisions.
Also, a skill census for training as per the needs of the industry along with assurance of free ration to low income families has also been given.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also promised that there will be no reservation in education and employment on the basis of religion anywhere in the state.
According to media reports, regarding the anti-conversion law, he said, ‘…after the formation of the Mahayuti government, a committee will be formed, which will discuss with all the stakeholders. This committee will make such strict laws so that religious conversion cannot take place.
Shah released a 25-point ‘Sankalp Patra 2024’ in Mumbai, according to which the financial assistance for women under the Mahayuti government’s Ladki Bahin scheme will be increased from Rs 1,500 per month to Rs 2,100.
The BJP, in its manifesto for the state assembly elections to be held on November 20, has promised to create 25 lakh employment opportunities and has assured a stipend of Rs 10,000 every month to 10 lakh students.
The ruling grand alliance in the state includes the BJP, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The BJP manifesto promises that an anti-conversion law will be enacted to take strict action against forced and fraudulent conversions.
Through the skills census, the ruling party assured to ascertain the needs of the industry and upgrade skill training wherever necessary.
According to the manifesto, under Akshaya Anna Yojana, low-income families will be provided free food items every month through the Public Distribution System (PDS).
The BJP also plans to develop the state as an advanced robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) training hub.
It also promised to create 10 lakh new entrepreneurs through Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Akanksha Centers in each district.
The party promised to create 50 lakh ‘Lakhpati Didis’ by 2027 by creating an industrial cluster of 500 self-help groups and providing an initial fund of Rs 1,000 crore.
The manifesto promises that if Mahayuti comes to power, Nagpur, Pune, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nashik and Ahilyanagar will be developed as modern aeronautics and space manufacturing centres.
It also promises that SGST on the purchase of fertilizers will be returned to farmers as a grant. According to the manifesto, prices of essential commodities will be kept stable.
