Imran Khan’s party PTI ends march in Pakistan, security forces action continues

Workers of former Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s party have ended their protests in the capital Islamabad. PTI supporters were agitating for the release of former PM Imran Khan. The army had to be deployed in Islamabad to control the two-day long protest.

A statement was issued in the morning by the Interior Ministry on this matter. It was told in this statement that the main road has been evacuated by the law enforcement forces in Islamabad. At the same time, in this entire matter, Pakistan’s Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi told reporters that top leaders of Khan’s party, including Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi and Ali Amin Gandapur, who were leading the protests, fled the area.

PTI workers were agitating for the release of Imran Khan. During this, he demonstrated for two days in the capital Islamabad. This demonstration turned violent on Tuesday. The army had to be called to control the situation. It is reported that after the overnight action, PTI supporters called off their demonstration.

On Wednesday, an MP from Imran Khan’s party wrote in a text message that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had called off the protest following the government’s brutal crackdown.

The protest that started on Sunday took the form of violence on Tuesday. The situation started going out of control, after which the army had to be landed in Islamabad. At least six people, including four security officials, have died in clashes between protesters and security personnel. During the protest, thousands of Khan’s supporters tried to break the security barricades installed on the roads, due to which they clashed with the security personnel.

It is noteworthy that PTI supporters had gathered near the so-called Red Zone on Tuesday. During this time he had announced to stage a strike. He had announced that this protest would continue till the release of Imran Khan. Let us tell you that there are more than 150 cases registered against Imran Khan ranging from corruption to abuse of power. Presently he is in jail.

Pakistan’s Information Minister Ataullah Tarar told the media that the search operation is still going on. He said that a large number of protesters who were protesting in Islamabad demanding the release of Imran Khan from jail have been arrested. He further said that the main protest area has been evacuated and all the barricades will be removed on Wednesday.
