Hundreds of temples located in America have started preparations to celebrate the Pran Pratishtha ceremony to be held in the Ram temple of Ayodhya next week.
Thousands of Indian Americans are expected to participate in several events starting this week.
Kalyan Viswanathan, president of Hindu University of America, said in a blog post, “Ayodhya is re-emerging from destruction and neglect, symbolizing the eternal nature of Sanatana Dharma.
The Pran Pratistha ceremony being held at the Ram Lala temple after 550 years is bringing happiness for the city and about one billion Hindus around the world. The consecration ceremony will take place in Ayodhya temple on 22 January.
Kapil Sharma of ‘Shri Sita Ram Foundation’ in Texas said that the construction of Lord Ram’s temple in Ayodhya Dham after a wait of 500 years is an important day of faith and celebration for Hindus around the world.
Shri Sita Ram Foundation has organized Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Pran Pratishtha ceremony at its temple in Houston. He said that the festival will start with Sunderkand, which will be followed by cultural programs of dance, singing and music.
This will be followed by Havan and Pattabhishek of Lord Ram, which will conclude with the procession of Lord Ram and distribution of Prasad.
Sharma said, “It is also an honor for us to distribute the prasad and dust procured from Ayodhya Dham, which is being brought here especially for our program.”
Maryland Governor Wes Moore is scheduled to attend the Ram Mandir Utsav program in a suburb of Washington on Saturday. Some Pakistani Americans will also attend the festivities in the Greater Washington area.
