According to media reports, a case of stripping a woman and chasing her and beating her has come to light in Nandigram in the state’s East Modinipur district. After this incident, there has been an uproar in the area. According to media reports, the police have arrested one of the accused. Other accused are being searched for. Politics has also started in the state due to this incident.
TMC accuses BJP
Leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress have alleged that the BJP is behind this incident. Meanwhile, the BJP has rejected the allegations leveled by the TMC. The BJP says that the ruling party is conspiring to defame it. This incident took place in Gokulnagar of Block 1 of Nandigram. The husband of the woman who was beaten up after being paraded naked works in Chennai. It is being said that the members of this family had joined the TMC last year. The TMC alleged that the BJP was pressurising the family to rejoin the party.
The husband ran away from Chennai
On getting information about the incident, the woman’s husband returned from Chennai. He lodged a complaint with the police regarding the brutality done to his wife. On the basis of the complaint, local BJP booth president Tapas Das was arrested. There are injury marks on the woman’s body. She is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The woman said that some people enter her house at night. After that they started beating her. The woman even fell at their feet but the brutes did not show any mercy. The woman said that the brutes took off her clothes and beat her while chasing her on the road.
