The war between Russia and Ukraine is becoming increasingly dangerous and Ukraine has intensified attacks on Russian cities.
Videos of air strikes on major buildings in Russian cities were released on Sunday. Ukraine’s drone attacks on Russian cities brought back memories of the 9/11 attacks in America.
However, in retaliation, Russia also shook Ukrainian cities with more than 100 air strikes. Putin is stuck in new trouble amidst this terrible war.
The Wagner Group, called Putin’s private army, has left the Russian army. The Wagner Group said in a statement on Monday that its soldiers are no longer fighting the war in Ukraine.
In fact, during the war between Russia and Ukraine that started in February 2022, Putin’s dreaded Wagner Army caused carnage in Ukrainian cities.
Many Ukrainian cities were turned into crematoriums. The Wagner Army carried out a massive massacre in the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut and successfully captured it in May 2023. But now that Ukraine has started counterattacking Russia, the Wagner Army has withdrawn from the war.
Wagner Army did not reveal the reason for not fighting in Ukraine, but this statement is enough to break the morale of Putin and the Russian army.
The Wagner Group said on Monday it was only operating in Africa and Russian ally Belarus, and nowhere else.
Ukraine on Sunday called on Belarus to withdraw significant forces deployed along their shared border. It said these included Belarusian special forces and former Wagner mercenaries.
In a rare statement, the group said its personnel only work in Africa and Belarus. It also said, “The Wagner Army in the Russian National Guard is no longer in any ranks within the Russian Ministry of Defense nor serving in any companies of the Russian Army.
It is worth noting that in August 2023, many people including Wagner Army Chief Prigozhin died in a plane crash. Russia was said to be behind this. After which bitter relations between Putin and Wagner Army also came to the fore.
